Welcome to Holistic Therapy
A therapeutic reflexologist is a complimentary healthcare practitioner who takes a holistic approach to the maintenance of health and the management of disease, with the focus on improving overall wellbeing.
Reflexology is an ancient form of Traditional Chinese Medicine based on the theory that balancing the energy flow encourages the body’s own healing potential and thereby restoring the state of health/homeostasis.
This life energy is also called Chi (pronounced Kee or chee) and using treatments such as acupressure, herbal medicine, and essential oils I treat patients suffering from muscolo-skeletal, respiratory, circulatory, gastrointestinal, gynaecological, neurological, stress related disorders and pain.
Your Wellness state
We are more than just our bodies and my aim is to help my patients achieve balance in all 4 aspects of their being. The following are examples of how an imbalance in the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual dimensions manifest.
PHYSICAL
The body ages more rapidly, breaks down more easily, and loses elasticity. Organ function is disrupted, there are issues with absorption and elimination, and there’s a feeling of tightness, heaviness, and stress on our skeletal frame.
MENTAL
EMOTIONAL
SPIRITUAL
Disconnected from the understanding that we are all one and feeling or thinking that we can do things on our own or alone. That we are not co-creating our existence, that we are victims of fate (or the health care system, the government, or the media) and most often (or entirely) dismissive of listening to the gut. This person generally separates from being an active or conscious member of community or society and feels deserving and expectant of others’ energy or time. They also feel left out, or like they have not been seen or heard. There’s also a tendency to put a high emphasis on how things look or how they appear instead of focusing on transparency and honest heart communication. There’s also a heavy focus and over-reliance on doing, controlling, and the grasping of an exterior reference or relationship.
When we are in balance then we will feel open, flexible, inclusive, honest, proactively solving problems, communicate concisely, be calm, fearless and highly creative. The spiritual body represents the synthesis and balance of the other three.
