About & FAQ
My Story
My journey into reflexology started a few years ago when I left a demanding career in IT as a project administrator at T-Systems. After suffering a few setbacks in my family and health, I felt that I wanted to make a career change where I can be of help to people. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, and it was very difficult to do anything due to the pain, even with the use of anti-inflammatories. The anti-inflammatories were not helping and made my health decline, so I looked for an alternative. That is when I found therapeutic reflexology.
I was so impressed with the way reflexology helped me get rid of the pain and get my life back, that I decided to study it. I studied the diploma at the International Academy of Reflexology and Meridian Therapy based in Rivonia and completed my clinical training at various clinics. I would like to see people happy, confident, less stressed and living without pain. I am amazed at the results that I achieve with reflexology.
Frequently asked questions
Does Reflexology Hurt?
One of the most common questions clients ask is whether reflexology is painful. Reflexology treatments are generally deeply relaxing and comfortable. Occasionally, certain reflex areas may feel temporarily tender or sensitive. This can occur for several reasons, including natural sensitivity within specific reflex points or areas requiring additional attention.
Pressure is always adapted to remain comfortable and tolerable for each client. Any tenderness experienced is usually brief and subsides as the area relaxes during treatment.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
The number of treatments required varies according to the individual, their health status, and the nature of the condition. Acute or short-term concerns may respond more quickly, while chronic or longstanding conditions often require a more gradual treatment approach.
Many clients begin noticing changes after approximately four treatments, although results differ from person to person. Consistency of treatment, lifestyle factors, stress management, nutrition, and adherence to recommended wellness adjustments all contribute to treatment outcomes.
Initially, treatments are commonly scheduled once or twice weekly, progressing to fortnightly or monthly maintenance sessions as improvement occurs.
